Emergency Lighting & Signage
Emergency lighting
Provides alternative lighting for safe exit from a building when the usual lighting system fails. The Health & Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) regulations 1996, requires that adequate provision of exit and safety signage be provided and when it is necessary for those signs to be illuminated. Exit, directional, fire action, warning and all photo-luminescent signage available.

Emergency Signage
A building you know well may become a dangerous maze once in darkness or smoke.
Photo-luminescent signage ‘charges’ throughout daylight, or artificial white light, and retains luminous power for several hours, creating a clearly marked escape route in event of emergency.
It is imperative everyone is able to see and recognise directional signage leading them to safety from wherever they are within your premises. Our engineers are fully conversant with current legislation and will advise on placement and type of signage available.
SF Fire Protection Services Ltd only use signage of a quality that greatly exceeds the current standard regulations with a far superior luminescent intensity.
Signage is also a necessity to ensure fire equipment is prominent and conspicuous. Fire Action Notices are required to instruct employees and visitors what action to take on discovering a fire and should be placed next to the alarm call points and in other conspicuous places within the building. Again, our engineers can advise and discuss your requirements.
The fire safety signage Regulations state that:
- Employers must use safety signs wherever there is a risk to health and safety which cannot be controlled by other means
- Safety signs must be of a specified type
- All signs must contain a pictogram; text only signs are no longer acceptable
- Signs must be properly maintained and adequately lit
- Employers must ensure that signs are understood by employees
